Baby Visual Stimulation

baby readingDownload Our Baby Visual Stimulation Sheets

There is now so much research to show that newborn and young babies are fascinated with high contrast images and human faces. Although babies can see right from birth  it is not yet in fine detail.  Newborn babies need to learn to focus both eyes together and to judge depth. It is easier for developing brains and eyes  to focus on black and white which is the biggest  contrast difference. You can help baby’s eyes and brain develop by giving baby interesting, high contrast patterns and shapes to look at when they are awake – right  from birth. Baby will soon start to reach out for objects. This helps with  learning hand eye co-ordination,.Make sure you give baby interesting toys to reach out for and grasp.

Each free printable pack has five sheets with a different theme for each set. You can laminate the sheets and put them on the wall in baby’s bedroom, next to the baby changing mat and anywhere else baby might see them, You can read  to baby like you would a reading book using the black and white images and talk about what you can see.
